This site has two goals. The first is to hold deniers of global warming accountable for their views. The second is to inform people who would like to know what the authoritative consensus of mainstream science has to say about climate change.
I hope that global warming denial becomes the political embarrassment it should be sooner rather than later, so that we can get on to preserving our climate as best we can for future generations. I look forward to retiring this site when that time comes. In the meantime, here it is.
If you’re not sure who you should trust about climate science, I recommend that you start by reading this.
About the tone
Take a look at the comments section on any article on global warming on any popular news site. Somehow this issue has a way of attracting storm surges of nastiness from Internet trolls. It’s disturbing to see. I’m sorry that the Internet isn’t a more civil place.
But despite my regret, this site will not be shy about taking an aggressive stance against global warming denial. The climate of future generations is at stake. The inaction deniers preach is morally outrageous. But even at times when this blog is fueled by outrage, I hope to keep the tone as civil as possible.
Some readers may object to my labeling people who dismiss global warming as “deniers.” I can see why that would bother them, but I still think it’s appropriate. See the dictionary definition above.
